There’s something I keep noticing on LinkedIn.
The people who stand out the most… the ones you actually enjoy following… the ones who seem to attract opportunities without forcing it…
They’re not trying that hard.
And I know how that sounds. Because when you’re building your presence, it often feels like you have to try harder. Post more. Say more. Push more.
But that’s usually where things start going wrong.
Trying Too Hard Is Surprisingly Easy to Spot
You’ve probably seen it.
Someone starts posting consistently for two weeks… maybe a month. They follow all the “rules.” They try to sound professional, maybe even a bit too polished.
And then suddenly, they disappear.
Why?
Because they say: “LinkedIn doesn’t work for me.”
But the truth is… they didn’t give it enough time. And more importantly, they were often speaking to the wrong people.
It’s Not That There Are No Opportunities
This is something we talked about literally a few minutes ago in a podcast recording.
A lot of people assume that if they’re not getting results, it means the platform doesn’t work.
But usually, it’s something else.
You might be:
- Reaching the wrong audience
- Stuck in a very narrow algorithm bubble
- Or simply not aware of the spaces where your opportunities actually exist
And that changes everything.

I Didn’t Even Know a Whole World Existed
At one point, I was already making revenue through LinkedIn.
Clients were coming in. Things were working.
But I still had no idea there was an entire “LinkedIn influencer world” happening in parallel.
Different people. Different conversations. Different level of visibility.
And then, by chance, I met someone who introduced me to that space.
And suddenly, everything expanded.
One Connection Can Change Your Entire Direction
After that, things started to roll naturally.
I met people like Jasmine Ali and Chilara Acosta, and many others.
Not because I was aggressively chasing connections.
But because I stepped into the right environment.
That’s the part people don’t talk about enough.
You Don’t Need to Try Hard – You Need to Look Better
The shift is subtle, but powerful.
It’s not about:
- posting more aggressively
- forcing engagement
- trying to be everywhere
It’s about understanding where to be and who you’re speaking to.
Because once that clicks, things feel lighter.
More natural.
You’re not pushing anymore – you’re participating.

The Real Reason Some People Grow Faster
The people who seem “effortless” on LinkedIn aren’t necessarily doing less.
They’re just not wasting energy in the wrong places.
They:
- Understand their audience
- Position themselves clearly
- Stay consistent (even when it feels slow)
- And most importantly, they stay long enough to see results
There’s no panic in their approach.
No “this needs to work in 2 weeks” energy.
Maybe It’s Not That LinkedIn Isn’t Working
Maybe it’s just that you haven’t seen the full picture yet.
Maybe your network is still too small.
Maybe your content hasn’t reached the right people.
Maybe you’re one connection away from a completely different direction.
And if you stop too early, you’ll never know.
This Is Where Most People Get Stuck
They try.
They don’t see immediate results.
They assume it’s not for them.
And they leave… right before things could have started working.
Not because they’re not interesting.
But because they didn’t stay long enough to be discovered.
This Is Exactly What We Work On at Digital Business College
At Digital Business College, we don’t teach you to “try harder.”
We help you:
- Understand where your opportunities actually are
- Expand beyond your current network
- And approach LinkedIn in a way that feels sustainable
Because the goal isn’t to burn out after one month.
It’s to build something that keeps working for you over time.
One Thought to Leave You With
The most interesting people on LinkedIn don’t try too hard…
Not because they’re lucky.
But because they’re in the right rooms, talking to the right people, and staying consistent long enough for things to click.
So maybe the question isn’t:
“Why is this not working?”
Maybe it’s:
“Am I even in the right place yet?”
